Selen Uçer was born on May 5, 1983 in Istanbul. Uçer, who took classes at Akademi Istanbul for about a year, went to the USA to do her master's degree in theater and acting and entered Roosevelt University in Chicago on a scholarship. The play Dream in New York (American Dream) that she wrote here was staged by Ensemble Theater on Off-Broadway. Returning to Turkey in 2004, Selen Uçer gave lectures on Improvisation, Comedy and Character, Use of Voice for Acting at Yeditepe University Theater Acting department. She also conducted workshops at Bogaziçi University Mithat Alam Film Center. Selen Uçer starred in the Cinderella section of the movie Narrated Istanbul, which consists of 5 different stories: The Pied Piper of Fareli Village, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Little Red Riding Hood, which was screened on March 11, 2005.
